We hope to share what we are learning, how we are changing the community and how this experience has been prepared us for our future.

What is the BUILD Health LA program?
By: Steve Bravo
The National Health Foundation is a non profit organization that created the BUILD Health LA program with the goal to create a healthier community by improving the social, physical and economic health.
The BUILD Health LA program is composed of high school youth from South Los Angeles. Together, we are working to improve the lives of those in the community by increasing exercise opportunities, increasing access to healthy food and communicating it to our community.
The Community Health Liaisons are high school students, such as myself, who want to see our community excel in the future by addressing the needs. As students, we strive to achieve this through our education, our commitment to community service and our advocacy. We do this, hoping one day we can help change the lives of our community members.
As Community Health Liaisons, we emulate the same ideals in striving for a better community, for ourselves, our family and our community of South Central Los Angeles.
